Expect great broadband value from Altech Autopage says company CEO

I'm getting a bit of a de javu feeling with this article.

Chislett explained that while they are not interested in getting into a price war, they will definitely offer great value for money with products which consumers want.

So we can expect reasonably priced high cap (counted in multiple GBs), unshaped, prepaid data bundles? Jan, can you ask them that?

If not, then they're probably just blowing more hot air.

Consumers want affordable broadband, and if you are not getting into a price war it means prices will stay (more or less) the same I have to assume?
Altech Autopage will have a big drive in the consumer broadband market with converged services and innovative broadband product
As for converged services, hopefully affordable and usable data packages for smartphones are on the cards. If you want to know what not to offer look at what Nashua Mobile's XDS.
In conclusion, why do we always have to get an article about what's to happen or what we can expect, then a day or so later only the real announcement. Make the announcement and get it over and done with. This reminds me of children being told to be good as Santa only brings the good kids stuff.

Run for your lives, unless you feel the need to raise your blood pressure.

I've heard such bad reports about Altech Autopage I wouldn't touch them with a barge-pole, or any other pole I might have!

If they hope to succeed, they really need to get rid of Autopage's bad reputation as fast as possible.

It would take a lot of effort from them to get me to consider signing up.

Won't touch Autopage, too many people I know complaining about the worst kind of service from them.

When, where?? Talk is cheap in this town when it comes to Broadband - give us something that's worth our time and you might get the attention that you're looking for. Its going to have to be something special if they want to make guys leave their current uncapped accounts available from guys like Mweb and Openweb!

The only that MIGHT make me move from uncapped is an unshaped 200gig account with 3-6months ROLLOVER.

I was a customer of Altech Autopage for too long. I don't hate many things but them I hated with a passion. The moment I could port my number I fled. No matter how cheap their bandwidth is or how good the package is, you will pay in stress and grey hairs from shocking service. There is something broken in that company on a systemic level.

My experience exactly, although I would substitute "hate" with "great dislike". Two year cell contract was waaaay too long.

Let me state upfront that I have never had an account with Autopage.

It is peculiar that Autopage appoint a PR company to turn their reputation around. The solution is so obvious and simple it should be obvious to anyone. Reduce the number of queries and Autopage's reputation will improve. That goes for ANY company.

I was once with Altech Autopage and move to Nashua Mobile. I can say that in comparision Nashua Mobile is amazing (This is in not any way saying nashua mobile are any good, its an indication of how bad Autopage is). Unfortunately my wife still has a cellphone number with them, the contract has ended, so we are moving, its just a matter of her deciding what she wants to get next.

A company that appoints a PR company to deal with issues has something so fundamentally flawed with them that I will not be going back and I will ensure that everyone I know or have any contact with will not go close to them. They have no idea on service and innovation. I have yet to see one of their "value added" offerings that actually adds value in comparison to the alternatives around.

I think they don't know how, hence getting in external help.

I wouldn't touch Autopage with a barge pole even if you paid me....

They screwed me previously.

Oh, and as for this great value for money nonsense... let me let them in on a secret, the consumer ONLY cares about price at this point... offer the same service as MWEB at a lower price point and you have potential customers... offer a similar service as MWEB for higher money and you have no potential customers.

We value your inputs, comments and suggestions - We are not disputing any of these issues.

What we are saying though is; We are here to ensure that Altech Autopage hears your concerns and deals with them satisfactorily.

If you have problems or know of someone who has experienced problems with Altech Autopage, please email the details to [email protected]. All reported queries are investigated and resolved within 24 hours - that is a promise we make to Altech Autopage customers.

Altech Autopage does not want to loose any customers over queries that could easily be resolved.

Having been an Autopage employee (early 2000s), and a current customer, the complaints resonate with me - but I can understand why a PR company would be necessary. We're talking years and years of bad service, etc. that needs to be reversed. Personally, I wish them the best. Of course, that would be great for me as a customer, so perhaps I am a bit biased. ;)
