Lol. Things were pretty good until the financial crash and Zuma, so your decision to leave in 2003 is probably for other reasons. Unless you can see the future, in which case please send me the lotto numbers.

So grateful to have a solar system, 6 panels and two batteries, gas cooker, every time I can thank God I am not part of the mess.
 
Though the 10 units over 7 stations has been mentioned before, how does that happen at the same time ?
 
I wasn't expecting anything else. These buffoons can't even run a bath. If only they weren't a monopoly so I could support a company who could do the job.
 
What are the chances? Fill up car with petrol in Clanwilliam, as guy puts credit card in machine loadshedding occurs! Had to wait until local owner came to switch on generator ... btw, petrol pump price is stored from the last time used even if power goes off and then comes on again.

Out of interest, who still reduces consumption when requested by Eskom? I can't be bothered, they're repeatedly proven they can't manage jackshit.
 
I still find it funny when people say things like, you know it's cold right? How do you expect people to keep warm? Let me think, warmer clothes, blankets, closing windows and doors?

I can't really reduce it much more really. I don't consume that much compared to a lot of people

So you'd rather they load shed you than make the minor sacrifice of cutting back on unnecessary usage for a bit?

There's a lot of people like this out there, also South Africans are wooses, it gets cold pull out electric heaters.

Last month I was billed for 105kWh, an average of 3.85kWh/day. No solar, just careful usage.

It's pretty much impractical to go below that, regardless of Eskom's warnings, so there is nothing I can realistically do...

That's impressive, mine was sadly 400 units, but I'm working from home and still had to run the pool pump on occasion.

What difference has it made over the last 15 odd years? We still have load shedding.

Maybe because most people have your attitude? Yes Eskom hasn't gotten any better and even getting worse which makes sense as with age their old plant will fail more.

Not surprised they also have my attitude after 15 odd years. I'm not wasting my time anymore.
