IT bods should be struck off if they create too many dodgy computer systems, according to Microsoft's UK national technology officer.

For once I tend to agree with M$ on this one... although it's in the UK.

My Linux system, stays on for weeks on end, firefox stays open, for that same period of time, I run games, play mp3s, watch movies, upgrade software and run folding at home. 1/2 of my 1G ram is free, usually. My PC was on for 18 days, before the last power failure. The entertainment desktop was on several months, till we replaced a broken disk drive.
