The world's most desired coffee is grown on the eastern end of the beautiful island of Jamaica in the majestic range of hills known as the Blue Mountains. Cool misty conditions mixed with the rich earth and generous rainfall provides the perfect environment for growing coffee that is full-bodied and as smooth as silk. Our coffee is certified by the Coffee Industry Board as 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain® Coffee which is your guarantee that the coffee you purchase meets the highest standards.

Only $95.95 for 450grams. Lol!

Wonder if it tastes better than ordinary brewed coffee ? :-)

I'm sure it will taste better than normal nescafe for example.

Your average yuppie says the same about wines. But blindfold them and 90% couldn't tell the difference between a red and a white wine, let alone a quality red for example. Seen this experiment done in person before. I bet you the same applies to coffee...

How can you not tell the difference between red and white wine? Bunch of amateurs!

Well we recently bought a small bottle of Davidoff coffee for R100 and it tasted 100 times better than Nescafe Gold.

Jacobs is also a pricey coffee and it's a lot stronger and aromatic than Nescafe or Ricoffe.

And then after you drink it? Then what? Better be one hell of a caffeine buzz

Yes, all amateurs. So iow - probably just like you and me when it comes to wine. I'm pretty certain your average joe couldn't tell the difference between an italian, jamaican or costa rican coffee bean flavour, let alone differentiate between the good and bad from each region.

The marketers have you hook, line and sinker if you fall for this type of rubbish. They're pretty good at this type of thing. I bet you the first time you bought some "Jamaican" coffee, you had no idea why - you were just under the impression that they were renowned for their coffee beans. Even though you have no idea what makes a good coffee bean, well, good, and probably couldn't tell the difference between a slow-dry-roasted $500 coffee, and House of Coffees' bottomless R20 special...

There's a very simple solution to the above wine tasting problem: drink what tastes nice and not what's expensive. Often it's not the same thing ;)

Agree with you messugga! Price is rarely an indication of what tastes better.

True - in my experience I have an expensive palate though...:D

I'm a sucker for having expensive things, but often it's more because said object is a collector's item. I like art, I like antiques, I like expensive watches even if they don't keep time properly. It's about the art, not the functionality.

The yuppies piss me off...

(I'm kidding dude, I'm from slummies ... to us a holiday trip to a big city is going to PE :o )

Years of taking abuse because I live in this pit has made me immune to comments such as that :D

The Cape Town people are the sort we're talking about!

Er, yes, well, I have my own blend specially roasted by Gourmet Coffee. What can I say? We do love our coffee!

The art thing is your usual yuppie's reasoning as well...:p

Oh go jump off of a bridge :p

Actually, I grew up around art. My dad has over a hundred paintings, thousands of lino's, and loads of other antiques and pieces of furniture. My favourite is a couch from late 1800's Japan.
I actually do like workmanship/art ;)

I bought half a kilo of the above mentioned Blue Mountain Jamaican coffee beans..

Delicious, but I kinda never cleaned out the coffee machine and they went stale pretty soon after that :/
