Who has managed to move Away from Mweb.
How did the process work and how long did it take.

Most ISP's seem to be far cheaper for the same packages,
so would like to consider moving to a cheaper ISP but at the same time dont want to run into too many issues.

thanks a mill.

I moved to Cool Ideas in December. Had to give MWeb at least a month worth of notice. Then contact Cool Ideas with Openserve B number that I got off my Mweb profile. Mweb confirmed a data and time that they would be switching me off. Cool Ideas picked the line up by about 10.00 on the day after and I was running by noon. Had to change the settings on the router to my Cool Ideas id and password - easy.

No problem with over invoicing either from Mweb or Cool Ideas.

Interesting tat you had such a good experience.

Family of mine arranged to take transfer of an MWEB account which was all signed and arranged for 1st of Feb. Transfer interestingly does not include the benefits of taking out a new account, e.g. a free router (I am not sure if that means the termination period is less). on the 1st the account got cut off and apparently there was some excuse that something was not done on the MWEB side. To sort it out he was advised to take out a new account, which he did, and that was active on the afternoon of the 1st.

The reason MWEB initially advised that he should rather take transfer was that it should have been seamless, as opposed to taking out a new account (with a free router). This was critical as the Kids were at school online and despite the promises and advice by MWEB, they dropped the ball. Thankfully they reconnected him fairly quick but I don't trust they meet their commitments properly after that experience.
