These past few days with Iburst i've been experiencing very bad latencies with WoW. I barely get under 1000ms. I'm based in Durban. Anyone know if anything is wrong here :mad: Is there some kind of notice?
 
There are no notices .. we can assist... but some people might say we are selling !!! so it is up to you what is required or do...
 
My international (and local) ping has also gone up quite a bit over thelast month or so.

I used to get low 500's to google.com, now more like 550-600 with spikes to 700+ms.
Its not a huge thing, but a degrading service is always bad, it should be getting better, not falling behind. Latency is already a problem for Iburst, they should look at sorting it out.

So is this kind of a general thing? Anyone elses pings go up over the last two months?
 
I get a failrly steady 350ms to Google. Most local sites are +-100ms. Hasn't changed recently. Pretty much as it was a year ago.

I play EVE-Online, and get 325-350ms to their server.
 
hmmm. sucks for me. I also get around 70-140 to local sites. But usually around 100ms.

But 350ms to google? Thats pretty damn amazing for me. That sounds almost better than ADSL though, really good.

Maby joburg is just rigged up better than CPT for pings, as everything starts in JHB anyway.

Just pinged google.com, getting pretty steady 510-530.. damn, if I had 350ms pings my Ibust would fly.
 
well the weird thing is i'm pinging google and i get a steady 450-500ms and i ping local sites and i get 80-100ms which is good. I play on StormRage server.

It seems the issue is gone now. I just logged on to WoW and got 400-500ms latency. Amazing :O

I've been having issues with GW since the 1st of May - Disgusting lag. Either its people happy to have their iBurst bandwidth back for the new month, or its GW with their recent launch of Factions and the influx of new or returning players.

I was hoping it was an iBurst problem, since that would subside quickly but pings are "great" @ 36-100ms local, and 350-450ms int. BLI has removed the generic blame box stigma from iBurst in such a short time... amazing :D
 
The launch of Factions has taken a big knock on the BW available for GW so until all the updates are completed you will be experiencing major lag :(
 
hmmm ok so it seems May is not a great month for iburst. I guess i got lucky when i logged in with 500ms latency for 15 mins. Its gone back to 1000ms avg. In January when i was playing WoW i would experience an avg of about 600-700ms. What the hell happened? My signal is 90-100% constantly. lemme ping google.com and paste here.

I wonder if it could be MTU settings cause were on Default, or maybe drivers or firmware. Anyone have any suggestions?
 
wow.. I would kill for those pings.
Ive never even seen 300's in google pings. I hadly EVER get under 500 since about 2 or 3 months ago. Used to get to high 400's quite a bit.. not anymore.

If you change your MTU to 1352 it should help, but with pings like that I'd say its the game server. Maby Iburst shaping the port more heavily? But I wouldnt suspect that, just a random idea.
 
lol i play warcraft 3 often and wen i first got iburst it was fine no lag nothing. now i cant even play the lag is so bad. i rather play on a laned dial up.
btw i pings google.com getting well over 2000 ping on this idling connection
 
huh? you shure quinn? 2000? no ways, pinged that on your conneciton wen I shared it the time we lanned and it wasnt nearly that bad. Restart your modem.. and um pray.

Have you updated your Firmware? Just a thought...

hmm. I get 874.6kb dl and 256.9 up
Thast realy good speeds though, the best I have ever seen for international, was at 12pm (night) though. Still, the dl was at 900kb alot of the time and the uplaod hit 400+kb??? I was using dumeter to monitor this during the test.

Straight afterwards I could harldy pull over 200kb at two other international tests. namely: testmy.net and speakeasy speed test.

A telkom speed test after that showed just over 700kb. wtf? and a gamco test only came up with 311kb?

Does the other link you gave look up a local server for you to be tested on or what? Not shur ewhy it was so fast, but the connection is good over all right now.

That auditmypc is a bette indicator because they have the infrastructure to demonstrate proper throughput,but have you tried that UOTRACE yet? Those packet polls are more useful to me than pings and bandwdth tests, if we can sort that out then you should generally have a fairy tale iBurst experience :D

iBurst will be setting up a speed test in the site soon...not too sure how confdential it is so I won't divulge the time-frame they presented to us.
 
I PMed the resuts to you.. not to shur ehow to measure it tough.
It looks like UTTracestar works on my PC, but the laptop is by the UTD and it has to connected via USB right? cause im on a router.

to see the frame errors you can use the iBurst software included and you have to connect the device via USB to any Computer/Laptop the software is loaded on.....

If there is any other software someone please advise.....I just usually use the provided software
