I'm accepting a job as an inspector at a international stockphotography company.

This means I have to download and check about 5 000 images per month, each ranging between 2 - 4meg. Download speed affects how much work I can do per day and how long it takes me to finish the work.

Any suggestions for ISP and packages?

PS. I hate Telkom with a black little heart, but if it is the only way...

For that amount of data-usage you're going to have to get bandwidth from Telkom using their ADSL service (you're going to be royally screwed trying to dl that amount of data via 3G).

As far as ISPs go I'd go for a SAIX reseller since they give the best international speeds. At 15GB per month (5000 images at 3MB avg each) you're probably best of looking at an uncapped option - not too sure about pricing though (I only use about 3GB a month).

Remember TelkomInternet uses softcapping - so you get 6GB on your 3GB account at present (although this could change at any time). You might want to consider DoBroadband 3 with a secondary ISP account to make up the balance, or simply opt for an uncapped option.

Hi Frank Capa,

the benefits of going with telkom are as Speedster mentioned. If you are looking for a better, more personalised service provider, WebAfrica and Openweb are two of the favourites of MyBroadband forumites.

If this makes a difference to you- TelkomInternet is playing dirty (anti-competitive) with regards to their ADSL accounts.
