I have the old Explora connected to twin Lnb. Extra view connected via the switch. Do I need to change to the smart Lnb and connect the extra view direct and remove the switch or can I simply plug I to the existing setup and have the old Explora as the extra view and new explora 2 as the main decoder.

Explorer 2 uses a unicable. You may need to change the Rx/Tx frequency ranges so there is no interference with the other decoder(s) but first copy the settings from the old explorer. Monochoice's website lists them somewhere you can google for them
