A while ago my DSTV Explora popped up with a message saying that decoder's hard drive is corrupt and that it needs to be formatted.

I formatted it then and it worked fine, but now the message has appeared again.

Does the hard drive need to be replaced? And if so, can I replace the drive myself?

Is it under warranty?

If not just look for any void if removed stickers and peel it off, then undo the screws and take it out and fit your own one.

Also tell us what brand it is, and do you turn hard drive preservation off or leave it on?
