I have an Explora Ultra and have tried to adjust the recording pre/post safety net from the default 1 minute to 5 minutes. It is still recording with 1 minute pre and post programme. DSTV customer service don't seem to know what I am talking about so can't help me figure out why it hasn't changed the setting.

Any ideas?

* Presume you're just changing it on individual recording settings? If so, that doesn't always work IIRC, mostly due to EPG changes before the recording happens.

Find the default setting and change there.
On my old Explora it's in Settings \ User Preferences \ Recording
Then re-save each recording setting.

* (If not, can't help)

I'm trying to adjust the default for all recordings, I've noticed that it's hit and miss now, some have the 5 minute pre-recording but still cut the end off, some have 1 minute and some programmes have already started when the recording starts.

Very annoying.

You sound still uncertain how? See my last post again, second paragraph.

When things were bad I would set mine to the max 10 minutes, on both sides.

Yep, there's little respect for recordings these days.
