I have a first generation Explora which is connected via HDMI to an Onkyo AVR. Have had no issues until recently when sound suddenly “disappeared”. When I plugged the Explora directly into the TV there were no sound problems and there are no issues when watching on remote TV’s connected via co-ax cable. I have tried everything suggested from online sources such as using a different cable, plugging into a different input port on the AVR and nothing has worked.

Has anybody got any suggestions on how to resolve?

Onkyo's have a reputation for HDMI board problems.

Try checking HDMI in ports 1 by 1, to see if that might be the problems firstly.

Thanks for your reply.

I have tried this and it made no difference as there was no audio irrespective of the port I use. Nothing wrong with the port as it works fine when I plug another device into it.

Im curious, the explora 1 has Dolby digital plus written on the front, did you get it with your set up?
