Explora Ultra apps only output sound on 2 stereo channels

What video can I try on YouTube for 5.1 ?
What was the search string used?

Or that yes. But as long as it is working correctly then when they add on Showmax and DSTV it will work as intented

You can just search 5.1 surround. Most of the search results allow 5.1. I checked that it works on both free and premium and on both vp9 and av1 files. You'll have the option on the menu to turn on and off and on stats for nerds it will display ac3 as in the pic I posted earlier

My Samsung (2019) doesn't offer 5.1 on YouTube (though Netflix etc can give Atmos) - buy my Apple TV does offer 5.1. It's actually got a checkbox to enable/disable 5.1 on the video

Maybe I misread - but I took this as only YouTube TV and not YouTube itself .

But happy to give you credit :)

What's the difference between YouTube TV and YouTube Premium? YouTube TV is a live TV streaming service with major broadcast and popular cable networks.

Apologies @Gudnews , that was unintentional...I also thought it was true for only Youtube TV but was surprised to find that it is also now true for normal Youtube and got carried away

Got feedback from Multichoice again today. I've never experienced such good customer service:

"I’ve ran a simulation from our dolby room and I’m glad that I could replicate your problem . ShowMax and Youtube only had audio on left and right channels and nothing on surround sound. Linear and Netflix had sound on all channels without any issues. Playing Youtube on TV app via ARC played fine on all speakers. I’ve logged a defect for further investigation and triage. Hopefully we might have the fix targeted for the next software release. But we’ll assess the impact and risk in applying this fix which may vary on delivery timelines."

Judging by that response at least the Showmax app on the Ultra should have surround sound support. Well, well. Would be nice if this 'fix' fixes surround on the TV apps as well where I prefer to watch. Would be even better if it fixes surround on the DSTV app as well. A man can only dream...but must say it is a refreshing response from especially this company
