Explosion in Yeoville

At least two people were slightly injured in an explosion in Yeoville on Wednesday.

Witnesses said it appeared a transformer exploded in a Telkom building on Ralleigh Road.

It is understood the front of that building was destroyed.

Firefighters were currently searching through the rubble for more people.

“There were two big bangs and a lot of bricks were flying around,” said a woman who was in the area.
