Explosion of cloud computing providers in SA

South Africa's cloud computing space has seen an influx of major players launching services in the country over the past three years.

These include Amazon, Microsoft, and Huawei, which have all launched cloud regions in South Africa.

Cloud providers have spent billions of rands establishing their infrastructure locally.

Too bad Google isn't on that list. I recently lunched a SaaS product and would have definitely gone with GCP if they had servers in SA - coming from AWS, I find the developer experience with GCP far less frustrating sometimes...

I also eat SaaS products for lunch.

I am busy evaluating cloud options. In particular, AWS' virtual workstations. It seems like they have some great solutions for content creation and VFX industries. We work with big data that is very graphic intensive and real-time interaction is important. i.e. when animating lipsync etc. Has anyone used the AWS virtual workstations? How feasible is it to use from SA?
