Exporting/Converting iTunes Lib (PC to Mac)

Has anyone been successful at moving their iTunes Lib from PC to Mac? My lib is huge and rebuilding is gonna be painful.

It's no biggie getting your music onto the Mac... Metadata 'tho... Eish!
Not near my Mac right now but IIRC you'll find an Music folder in your user account on your Mac. In the Music folder you'll find an iTunes folder and in the iTunes folder you'll find an iTunes Media folder and in the iTunes Media folder you'll find a Music folder... Copy your music to an external from your PC and stash the whole lot in that Music folder... It's where iTunes adds music anyway.
I'm pretty sure a lot of the info and album art might be missing 'tho... You can get album art from iTunes as long as you have a US Store account... If you're like me and particular about your music it can be a little painful as you're making the switch to Mac but once it's done

PS. There are some Mac apps for cover art and info that are pretty cool. Have a look at Cover Scout when you get a moment.

Eish greg0205!!! It's the metadata I wanna transfer!!! Moving files is NOT an issue. I bought a CD last night and tried to sync new files to my phone (from iMac) and got a message that I must cancel previous "sync pairing" with PC/iTunes, effectively deleting all the music currently on my phone!

I think that I am gonna have to start from scratch and build the new Lib. There were a few nasty things like "track 1" on my old library this is a good opportunity to do a descent clean up!

I am enjoying the MAC!!! I regret not switching sooner. Only problem is I have gotten in trouble once or twice by making it to bed around 2am. Tough life of a man in relationship... I am considering taking two or three days leave so that I can bond with the second wife without the other one feeling jealous!

I get that... I'd spent years getting my music just-so in Windows Media Player before the switch and I have a lot of music. I lost whole weekends sorting mine out but when it's done, it's done. Seriously, have a look at Cover Scout as a backup.

PS. Also, on this forum, you need to keep any confessions of your love for your Mac on the down-low... So many PC boys just haven't seen the light yet but they will... Just saying.

WARNING: Going off tangent here...

Speaking of PC boys... I decided to watch the WWDC 2011 again on Saturday, for obvious reasons. SJ said something which when I watched it for the first time did not mean much... He said:"It just works..." I never truly appreciated that until after buying a iMac a few weeks ago.
