Hello. I am stumped. Let me explain. I live in Farrarmere. we have fibre via Openserve. ISP is Afrihost. two homes on the property. Fibre injected into home no 2. their speed is something line 6 ping, 90 odd DL and about the same upload. so line issues are non existant. I pipe in from there via Cat 5 E. about 40 M. terminate in 8 port gigabit switch. from there to my smart tv and to a TP-Link AC 750 wireless router. this is for about the last 4 months. no issues.

About 3 weeks ago something went wrong. I been trying of and on to find the issus. cant seem to find it.

I tested the Cat 5 E, no issues.
changed the 8 port switch
reset the AC 750
setup AC 750, the problem remains.

I am tech savvy but I can not seem to find any source of the upload issues. browsing seems fine, backup and sync to google drive is sluggish, I also use wetransfer a lot, or used to. I cold upload and send files of about 700MB is about 15 min. Now it takes 15 min to 3%

we ran the same file upload in house 1 and got stunning upload speeds. house 2 suffers still very slow upload speeds.
dL seems just fines and I can DL 2 / 300 MB files in a jiffy.

ofcourse, I checked all the obvious places, anti-virus, throttling, bottlenecks , browser, local NIC, cables, IP settings...
Like I said, am stumped. please chuck some suggestions.

when i run speed test, i get 90 odd DL, it starts the UL goes to 6 and the just dies.

HELP, Please

Download wifi analyzer on an android device and see if there is any interference.

Are you using channels 1, 6 and 11 for 2.4ghz?

Whats the model of the TPlink, is it an Archer?

Also, have run wifi analyzer. Currently on channel 11, strong. No interference.

More info.

Even if i do a speed test on my mobile, Note 8, connected to wifi on 2.4 ghz. Or on the pc connected via lan cable is get the same result..

Slow upload. Then i connect my phone to house 1 wifi and retest. 90 down and 90 up.

Hmmmm. The tp link is about 4 months old.

Openserve, you can just change PPOE details and test another ISP, any ADSL data account will work.

Try that and let us know here. :)

Replace ethernet cable connectors. Or cable. Is the cable protected with conduit?

No. The cable is open. I did all RJ 45's. Cable test fine. My thinking, if cable my dl will be effected aswell? Tried a new 8 port switch today. Also no difference

Send and receive are likely using different pins.

A continuity tester won't tell you the quality of the connection.

Replug or replace connectors imo.

And ethernet cable plastic goes brittle in the sun. Use conduit.

thank you to all, problem sorted.
my TP link 8 port switch was faulty. I replaced it with the one I had in the office as spare, seems that was faulty too.
replaced with an older Dlink adsl router just to test. immediately i was back . DL 90 and upload 80 odd.

retested, still fine. connected 8 port tplink, upload crap. put dlink again, upload fast, put 2nd 8 port, upload crap, put dlink again, upload good. its still good.
