Extended Warranty or Maintenance Plan?

I own a 2010 Subaru Impreza RS whose factory warranty and maintenance plan expires soon. I need help deciding on what to choose. Which products are currently on the market which doesn't cost a fortune yet can replace these plans based on amounts and parts covered?

You can extend the Maintenance plan through Subaru if you wish - the F&I at the Subaru dealership will work out costs on that and extend warranty - we cannot give you prices here as the price is calculated after going through the car's history.

If I could afford it, I would take the extended Mtce plan as at least you have a couple more years of free driving. In the end the F&I will give you the options and you can then make up your mind.
 
Thanx Fazda. Called them and they offering the exact same cover for the next 60 000kms at R45K. SA Warranties on the other hand too offers a maintenance plan + extended warranty for R28K and services to be carried out at Subaru paid for by SA Warranties. Why this huge difference for virtually the same cover?:confused:

Sounds as if one is a service plan and the other is a Maintenance plan - there shouldn't be that big a difference - just check what is covered in the cheaper quote. You already know that everything is covered in the expensive one.
 
Best would be to speak to a Finance and Insurance consultant at the dealership to advise you on options. However be aware that they receive commission on products sold.
 
Try liquid capital for a quote.
They quoted me R10K for 2 years warranty on my G6 GTI.

We all receive commission for what we sell, so are you saying we should cut out the sales person?

Yes - MASSIVE difference between a Warranty and a Maintenance plan or Service plan.
10k is high going price should be just under 7k
 
SA Warranties also have caps on their covers - eg R4000 on clutch etc, so that may be why they are cheaper.
