I have a client with a couple of diginet lines that they need moved around 20m - 30m to another part of their premises. Telkom's ETA is 2-6 weeks and they want it done yesterday. I'm no networking guy, but am wondering if I can just patch it through some unused CAT6 wiring they happen to have going from the current location to the destination?
Does it need some isolation or something, so a single CAT6 cable for each line, or could I patch both lines through a single CAT6 cable (assuming it's not more than 2 pairs per line?).
I haven't had a chance to look at how it currently terminates, so I might be completely off here, but maybe someone with more knowledge can enlighten me a bit?

You should not have an issue "patching" it. Just make sure you have very solid connections all round (if you can't put connectors on and have to wire bits together be damned sure that you solder).

Nope, just nope.

Client will lose his SLA if it is not moved by Telkom.

FWIW it is possible, but I will not try it.

Did not think about that.

Just leave the diginet where it is and extend the lan for now.

Cool, thanks for the responses :) It's being used to transfer audio to multi choice, so will stick with the current unfortunate analog -> digital -> analog conversions happening currently to get the signal across to the X21 encoder.
