Extending network across house for PS3

I have also never set up something like this. From what I understand you need one unit plugged into the router and the wall, then another unit in the other room where the PS3 is located?

They are both as effective imo.
The only difference I found was the power line converter only works for a single output whereas a wifi extender is usable by the entire house.
Unless you plan on using a power line converter and then attaching a hub to that to allow more connections.

Thank you, I will definitely consider the Trendnet as an option. This solution is purely for the Playstation 3 only, so they do not require other devices to be connected. With a Powerline kit, do you simply plug in the 2 units or is there any other setting up that needs to be done?

Pls let me know how it goes.I was unable to use my wifi and my ps3 is only 3 m away, kept disconnecting.I use a LAN cable and it works perfectly now.

That's why I'm trying to avoid a wireless solution. I'm looking at the Wd BABY0000NBK Powerline AV Network Kit (2x unit). It has numerous LAN ports on each side so it can be extended for other devices if necessary.

Your router plugs into the Powerline adapter via lan cable.
You plug the other end into a main closest to your ps3 and run a line to the adapter.
Very simple really.

I think I am going to give the Western Digital kit a go. I am just waiting to hear from suppliers if they have anything else.
