Extending wireless network range

Not sure about this product...

But mayby you should buy a small omni (9dBi). They are about R350 and they should do a much better job. Also some product, like the wrt54g allow firmware mods to increase output power.

I have a WG834GT and an omni at my house that works just great (I share my ADSL line with two neighbours), but I have a friend who has a Belkin ADSL modem/Wireless router that he bought at Internet Connection (I know, I know) and he needs to get a bit of extra range out of the router (not a lot). When I checked the router there didn't seem to be a way to unscrew the antennae and replace it with an omni.

I will check again tomorrow to make sure the antennae can't be removed- thanks for the advice.

A WG834GT or a DG834GT?
What omni are you using and where did you get it from?
the cables are pretty expensive unlike tv-aerial cable.
are your neighbours using USB or PCMCIA cards?
do they also have antennas??
do u experience frequent signal drops?

if you want to be cool, invest in a 500mw pen booster ;-) helps quite ALOT with extending range, go for about R1000-R1100 at miro.

Otherwise ask Daffy , im sure he got some tricks up his sleeve.
