After being happy on iBurst for a year now, my connection has gone to the crapper...

It has trouble connecting and staying connected.... keeps going from 80% signal to 0% signal, up and down all freaking day...

I've been brave and called the suckdesk and all they can tell me is that "our network is working fine" and I need a R465 External Antennae...

Is this mofo actually going to help or are they just raping me for more money?

dude give Iburst Group a call they have promised to fix the issue with customer service... lets see how they respond :D and remember to tell them you not here to Change MTU's ;) else it'll be another 10 extra on your phone bill

An external aerial definately does help, it just sounds to me like you shouldn't be needing it. You shouldn't be buying an aerial to try and compensate for their network getting worse.

But your signal might have in fact decreased or be flactuating because of changes in the terrain between you and your tower. So perhaps it is a good idea. How about phoning the helpdesk and asking if you can trial the antenna to see if it makes a noticable (worth R350) difference.
