Hi, i got a 2.5, USB 3 external drive for a friend
however when she plugs it to her android box, its not working.
Also plugged my box its not working, but plugged to a computer it's working fine.

I would imagine it needs additional power.

Can i use a powered USB hub for this?

any recommendations?

What is not working? Does it spin up? Is it detected?

Is the hdd formatted ntfs or fat32? many android devices dont have ntfs support.

I will double check if it's not NTFS.
I thought its power related because doesn't sound like it's spinning up.

where can i get one?
i have not personally bought one myself, i just typed Dual Usb Cable into google.
I have a similar cable for a very old external DVD writer and it too powers up on some devices but not all unless unless i use the dual cable that came with it
