External Hard Drive Problem

A couple of weeks ago i had a problem with my WD 2.5 drive. I noticed 2 or 3 files were missing on it. Kind of scared to use it from now on. Can you guide me on how to check the health of the drive or do a software repair?

+1 they especially dont go missing because your hard drive is faulty.. they would get corrupt but not missing.. its not a bad idea to still check on the health of the drive though.. hard disk sentinel and crystal disk info are pretty much the go to options.. i find that hard disk sentinel provides more information though..
