I had a drive fail and was very tempted to see if I could resurrect it in case it was just the USB controller. But it was pointed out that the clips holding the enclosure together need a bit of force to come apart and doing it without damage is not possible. So I got a new one from Take a Lot. The exchange took 5 days

I now use a HDD cloner which duplicates the drive in about 20 mins, no s/ware or PC needed
