External Hardrive Help please!

Hi guys,
I have an mvix which I use all the time, however about 2 months ago, I plugged it in to my pc (via usb cable) and since then no hardrive is found.
I then tried the same with an external 1tb hardrive, and the same thing happened..
It's as if the usb port is eating my hardrives

Any quick way to fix this issue?
Not just the USB drive, but to fix the actual hardrive?
I'm on XP SP3

take the hard drives out and plug directly into a PC and see if you can detect them.

If not then give them a decent burial (check if they are still under warranty first).

Right click MyComputa > MAnage > Disk Management
See if your drive is listed in there, if it is, just activate it...

Did you check them on a different computer?

Maybe ur usb drive on the computer is faulty?
try on a different machine/port
