External hdd not accessible

My external hdd a Toshiba USB 3.0 Canvio not accessible as per photo.

It shows but I cannot even use tools on it. I tried to use CHKDSK but nothing happens.

I have to unplug external hdd to switch off pc.

None of the google solutions seems to be available since CHKDSK doesn't work.

It shows as Drive E in both my laptops.

Yes but it does nothing. Not sure if some security setting blocking it.

Sealed enclosure. Pity as I do have an enclosure somewhere among all my tech devices/parts gathering dust Lol

That's an SSD. My guess is that the controller failed.
