So previously had my Omni Antenna installed on my rafters. Was getting disconnected from XBOX live every 2nd game.
Installed a 2m pole and mounted my antenna.

Before i used to get around 700kb/s without the pole but with a ridiculous 200-300m/s ping.
With the aerial i am only getting around 500kb/s but with around 80-150m/s ping.

Is this normal.Shouldnt i get a higher download rate?

You have probably picked up another BTS, which might be further away. Also test and various times of the day and check for building or vegetation obstructions.

The distance from the omni to the modem can also be a problem. I decided to mount the omni on the mast inside a weather proof enclosure.

My reason for having the modem inside is if i have bad weather then i can disconnect the pigtail from the modem.

How would this recommendation work?
