Got my battery in a box with the inverter fixed to the lid of the box.

Looking for a gadget that can show me the voltage without having to take the lid off every time ? Something I can fix to the box with leads going through the box breathing holes connected to terminals.

A multimeter without the multi bit, simple voltage reader.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Assuming you want to measure a 12 volt battery, Bidorbuy (search for voltmeter) has many meters in all shapes and sizes.

This will also work: http://www.bushpower.co.za/products.asp?pid=248 Added advantage of having a low voltage alarm.

Whatever you buy, test it in conjunction with a multi-meter. Some of these budget meters can be very inaccurate.

I have these
Surface mount, and you get dual ones to monitor 2 batteries

Thanks guys, think I'll go with a $6.00 jobbie from Amazon that the kids can post for me. Got good reviews and I'm already in the dog box for buying the whole setup last year and using it 3 times only!!!
Appreciate your input.

they've got other colours as well. i'd get that with a push button switch like
Mini%20Push%20Button%20Switch-600x600.jpg
and connect it in series so you can push to see voltage.

Local is lekker.

Get yourself a Solar Controller as that shows you everything.
Currently you can use the controller without a solar panel.
It shows you the battery voltage, the current being drawn from the battery.
You can also set it to a voltage of your choice to switch off your inverter when your batteries get too low.
Then one day when you attach a solar panel it will show you the panel(s) voltage and current charging your batteries.
Best R750 I ever spent.
