Hi guys,

Bought myself a 5850 and now I am seriously keen to try out eyefinity.

Now I have been reading up online and I see that you have to have at least 1 monitor with a display port :wtf:

Kinda annoying to say the least. So now I have to look for a 3rd monitor with display port, any recommendations?

Or what are my options?

I have 2 x 2333SW monitors at present.

You can get a displayport to hdmi converter, that might help. Otherwise all the displayport screens I know of are quite expensive :(

Ah ok, I don't have hdmi on my monitor either. Would I need a displayport to DVi converter?

Seems like you do get a displayport to dvi converter, I'm sure you can also get hdmi to dvi. Dont know from where though, call up your local PC shop and ask

Be careful, normal converters don't work with eyefinity, you need the ACTIVE displayport to DVI converter @ ~R1200 (do a search). So it might be better to get a display with displayport. Also, heard that you need at least a 5970 to get decent framerates with eyefinity, but could be wrong.

Zomg, didnt realise that. But you dont need a 5970 for eyefinity, a 5870 will suffice. Dunno about a 5850 though, would definately have to turn down some settings to get smooth framerates

Eish sounds like more of a mission than I thought.

Didn't think the 5850 would battle.
