hi all,

i want to do a eyefinity setup.
i got 2x22" and 1x27" all samsung screens,i would like to know if this setup will work for eyefinity.
the screens will be running on a ati radeon HD6870.
the setup will be 22"x27"x22".

any advice will be appreciated.

My guess is that it should work, unless your 27" has a resolution higher than 1920x1200, which will require dual DVI.

not sure what rez the 27" it's connected screen hdmi to card hdmi and the other 2 will be dvi connections.

itll work fine. your 27 is probably 1080p, and if you're lucky the 22's as well...

I run an Eyefinity configuration of [23"] [24"] [23"] (1920x1080:DVI, 1920x1200:mini-DisplayPort and 1920x1080:DVI respectively) on an MSI HD6950, and it operates seamlessly.

So to answer your question, Eyefinity will most certainly work in your environment. However, due to the significantly larger size of the 27", the gaming experience may not be desirable.

i thank you all for the advice. getting my card 2morrow, can't wait.

{However, due to the significantly larger size of the 27", the gaming experience may not be desirable. }

why would this not be nice ?

I just mean as you expect - you still get good coverage of your periphery (like in Dirt 2 or COD: BO) but it feels like there are small 'cutouts' above both my 23"s (because of the 24"s height). It doesn't detract from the awesomeness of playing a FPS on 3 monitors, but it is an irritation.

With 3 screens I'd flip em all 90 degrees and have an awesome 3240x1920 resolution..
Personally I wouldn't like such a wide horizontal, yet narrow vertical setup.

Either way, enjoy!

If you flip a normal TN panel 90degrees, you get horrible color shifts! Unusable in my opinion. (I have 2 IPS, one in landscape, one in portrait, it works with IPS...)

P924: I'm working with TN panels (Samsung 2333) that are rotated 90' & 270' respectively each and every day. I had to connect them via digital outputs and still the viewing angle is very narrow, otherwise you get horrible colour shifts like you said.
