F1 2011 thread

How much tyres do each driver get.

Got this snippet of info from http://www.formula1.com/inside_f1/rules_and_regulations/sporting_regulations/8680/

"Over the race weekend, each driver has access to 11 sets of dry-weather tyres (six of the harder ‘prime’ specification and five of the softer ‘option’ specification), four sets of intermediate tyres and three sets of wet tyres.

During Friday’s first and second practice sessions the drivers are only allowed to use three sets of dry-weather tyres (two ‘primes, one ‘option’). One set of ‘prime’ tyres must be returned to the tyre supplier before Practice Two, and one set of each specification before the start of Practice Three.

A driver will then be allocated eight further sets of dry-weather tyres (four of each specification) to use over the rest of the event, but one set of each spec must be returned to the tyre supplier before the start of Saturday’s qualifying session. At the start of the race the cars that took part in Q3 must be fitted with the tyres the driver used to set his grid time."

Works 100s this side - grade 3, nogal. Thanks... never bothered with it before. :p

Sure. The videos are great. What browser are you using? They worked the first session that i loaded them and now I can't get them to load.

I have a feeling that for the first time in many years that we may not see the quali positions play out.

They will have to change tyre's, surely? All i know is it's going to be nothing short of the greatest monaco GP i have ever watched live. Hamilton basically said monaco is not about the car, the driver has some say so i would imagine vettel will absolutely destroy everyone this week. The way i saw it he was saying the redbull driver are only so good because of their car, we shall see whether vettel is so good due to his car or due to his sheer genius.

It will be interesting to see where it can be used, i reckon as you turn right into the tunnel :D. Although i doubt it will work when you are traveling that slow. I think the boost button will work better. Although redbull have vettel in the cockpit he worth a lap of boost button :D.

I set my pvr for the quali but can't find the live race on the epg. Someone please confirm channel and time for the race.

TIA

Shummi is .5 seconds off his team mate with a tyre that is suppose to be 1 second faster than what nico was on:eek:

Did nico use the red tyre? The super soft?

Yes.

And that was after the just managed to rebuild Rosberg's car as well. He basically had time to do one fast lap!
