F1 2011 thread

Yeah and race in a midfield car yet people still want to see him struggle with an inferior car :/

But it was wet anyone could have got pole and won that day :D.

Redbull look in a better position to win tomorrow. They don't chuck away the chance to get pole for no reason.

OMW you think Redbull chucked away a chance to beat William's record of most consecutive poles? Pull the other one :D
Naah Killa, they were just pipped on the day, simple as that. Vettel's car was tightly sprung for that session, just not tightly enough.

Unfortunately I think the McLaren will run away with the win like in Hungary. Hopefully Massa and he who must not be named find each other on the circuit again :P. Only way Vettel stands a chance if they do what they did in hungary :D

I think redbull are concerned about winning races not getting records. We shall see how it plays out but they seemed to save some tyres for a reason so we will see if they they are playing the race game or not. Not sure they were pipped mclaren just look like they have a better car, that is the only reason the man we cannot speak about is on pole isn't it?

I wouldn't write ferrari off, alonso has a rocket on the back of his car :D.

I'm not so sure, being strong in wet practise doesn't mean alot, and Vettel nearly got it with more tyres, so don't expect McLaren to disappear into the sunset any time soon. We'll have to see if their cars are setup for racing or qualifying.

I think Redbull have every reason to be concerned about records with the WC in the bag. Lol @

They (redbull) were pipped by Mclaren which appears to be a better car for this race, yes. Of course he's on pole with a better than usual McLaren, or did you think he suddenly found skill that he never had?

Looked like an amazing lap to me. I have seen the mclaren this season capable of pole but that amazing lap was not put in by the one we cannot speak of. Never fluffed his lines today. I guess all he did was steer it into corners and it did the rest.

Must be awesome to be a f1 driver, no skill needed you just turn this way and turn that way and if you have a good car you win. Sounds easy. Plus they pay you millions.

Looks like webber should win this race

Wow vettel wins in the second best car. What a performance, hamilton looked like he should walk this race but once again vettel is in a class of his own.

What a champion. This will be one the sweetest wins of the season for him. Pomps hamilton in the first lap and just rides away into the distance. Who can stop this man? Not hamilton, we going to need kubica in a good car and then maybe he can beat vettel.

Pffft! Far be it from Killa to admit that Vettel messed up his quali. Hamilton never looked like walking the race, I think he changed strategy to setup for quali. He never had the pace of Vettel the whole race long, even Webber nearly took him. Clearly That race was Redbulls to lose. Great race though, nice jostle at the end - lol @ Alonso "I give up"... read "You idiots should have got Massa to move over long ago". A bit of rain would have made it more interesting, but it was pretty darn good overall.

Pity for Redbull that they gave up on their opportunity to take another consecutive pole and beat Williams record - that's one that they're going to have to work very hard for if they can even do it again. Considering Vettel had the race in the bag, he's probably kicking himself for saving tyres during quali :p

Vettel never messed up quali, redbull planned for the race win and got it, records don't mean squat to redbull, winning races does.

Well massa should move out of alonso's way, it's sad that he doesn't have the same race pace but there is no point messing up good points for pride. Let the faster driver through and try maximize your points haul.

Sadly there is no one of vettel's quality on the grid, perhaps alonso but he is the only one who could challenge him. Hopefully next year he has car good enough to ring everything out it and make it that much better.

No doubt he makes that ferrari look much faster than it is, same with vettel. Alonso and vettel in the same team would be a good match.

Sadly that doesn't say much for Vettel's quality when Alonso needs the team to ask his slow poke team mate to move over.

Except when his team mate is in front of him :p
