F1 2012 thread

I think you're just jealous coz your dog has no nose :D

EDIT: *Waits for corny applause* :o

HA HA HA, no corny applause, touche. My dog happens to be McLaren for now and it has a nose, just not a botched one :D

I really can't wait for the new season to start.
My hopes remain that Ferrari will produce a good car again.... hopefully this is the year....

I REALLY hope Massa does good this year. It just seems like he's lost his spark.
In all honesty though, the 2 guys that seem to outperform their cars (even if it's the leading car) are Alonso and Vettel.

+1 on Ferrari. We need Massa and Ferrari back in the mix. This needs to be a six-eight horse race for the drivers... though what are the chances.

Hopefully REALLY high :D
The last report I read was Alonso saying that the Ferrari was only 20% ready. That was at their last testing session....
You never know with these pre-season 'interviews' though. I think a lot is said and done just to throw the opposition's scent off.

This is why I love the first race of each season. You finally get to see who is who in the zoo. I just hope Ferrari are the Cheetah and not the 3 toed sloth :)

I agree - the drivers usually play their cars down to avoid press disappointment. Well Hamilton and Alonso are good at that. I want to see at least 5 cars cross the finish line within .01s of each other on the first race. Yes my expectations are high lol.

That raises a little bit of a sour point with me. It seems every year Bernie goes off and finds ways to "slow" F1 down to try and make the races more interesting. But the big guns always seem to outdo the small fries. Perhaps instead on tinkering with what added to the interest (fuel stops/tyre changes) they should re-evaluate the points system. IE Have a points bracket from 1st-10th and then a lower paying bracket for 11th to 16th.

Basically something to give the minno's a reason to race....

That's what the current points system was for anyway. Now on a grid of 24 giving 16 of them points is a sham. It's like out matric students passing with 30 and 40. Even Zimbabwe is not that stupid with education. :-D ok they are actually pretty good :-D

Ta! :)
Interesting differences. There seems to be a lot happening just under the nose on the macca. As for Williams/Torro Rosso... who copied who?

Ferreri don't understand their car and they won't feature much in aus and perhaps the following two- five races,

Doesn't sound good to me.

Who's choice of words are those? Makes it sound as if Ferrari copied a bunch of other cars now has to figure out how it works lol.

I don't think anything that is said before the first race should be taken as truth. What's happening now is probably all just smoke and mirrors in the hopes of "surprising" the opposition come race day.

That being said, Ferrari do still concern me.... I'm trying not to base on what is being said now (based on my statement above) but their performance over the last few years leaves these sort of doubts open. When they say their car isn't performing well, I'm reminded of the last few years and think, "oh well, another bad season for them...."

Totally... my concern is that it's already Deja-Vu x2 so far. It's looking and sounding like 2010 and 2011.
