Hamilton got onto the grass... how else did his car hit the wall without going via the grass lol. Hamilton had no reason to believe Grosjean was going to move in on him like that.

Grosjeans wheel was behind Hamiltons front wheel. Hamilton braked and the pendulum started, then Hamilton pushed Grosjeans car over the Sauber into the air over Alonso.:D

We'd be saying what a terrible accident, because that is what it was. Do you honestly think Grosjean sat there saying to himself "Yeah, I'm going to try and kill Alonso today". It's racing. Risks are taken and accidents happen. If you don't like that stop racing and stop watching. You have 24 cars steaming into a corner, full of fuel and on cold tyres. Mistakes will happen.

I honestly cannot believe all the theatrics over that accident. Back in the 90s it was a rarity to see clean starts.

Pedro Diniz's flip in Nurburgring '99. Some fuss as he was effectively buried, but all is well;

I'm not saying be complacent but for goodness sake, it is racing. At high speeds. Danger is a given and accidents will happen.

really???, we'd be saying that?

And all your vids prove absolutely nothing..."Thats how we did it back then" does not make it right. The sport and rules continuously change to make it safer for the drivers - and if we cant engineer safety into the mechanics of the vehicle, then we must engineer it into the behaviour of drivers. And if harsh punishment gets us to the right behaviour then so be it.

Accidents will always happen, and cannot always be avoided...but recklessnes can be avoided with the right incentives. This is race, not a deathrace

Grosjean was not reckless there. He saw a gap and went for it - the accident was due to open wheel racing. If anyone was reckless, it was Maldonado, he caused everyone to take different lines with his jump start.

Uh yes he was. Pushing someone off the track is reckless driving. There was no gap to be 'taken'. He had a whole three quarters width of the track to himself, what he was doing over all the way on the inside pushing Hamilton onto the grass is the question. Utterly reckless.

We all see the same thing differently. If it was anyone other than Hamilton involved, you would too.

You realize when you race it can be a death race? Did you see kimi's pass on michael? Ummm that could have gone horribly wrong at 180 mph he took the slightest gap and went for it.

Was that also reckless considering that f1 is not a deathrace? Spectacular move from kimi but it could have got him or michael killed, is that how people are looking at f1 now?

O no i better avoid trying over take him, might be considered risky or reckless.

Grosjean and Pastor are dangerous to themselves and others. very talented but don't care if they are replaced

How about hamilton? remember when he was crashing into everything he could. If we follow your logic hamilton should have been out of f1 that season for sure.

Horrific season he had but it's racing and sometimes you just slam into things that you could perhaps avoid.

And If Hamilton was a better driver, he would have been higher on the grid ... I always get a satisfactory grin when he is out of a race ... I get that warm and fuzzy feeling

Yeah... I lol @ people who are so emotional about sport.

Grosjean has crashed 7 times. Pastor (Mr Grid penalty) how many grid penalties does he have this season so far for impeding, obstructing or crashing ? he has 2 10 place grid penalties.

Nah, the majority see things the same.. along with the FIA/stewards.

I can assure you my opinion would be the same regardless of drivers involved.

And just a few posts ago you were saying Hamilton should have backed off when Grosjean started to move into his left side...

He had the wrong set-up for qualifying, most of the time Lewis is on the front row.

Nope i never said he should have and it's his fault, i said the options were there to back off or go on the grass. Meaning it was avoidable from his perspective but that is after we have seen the replays.

Most of the controversy this year is because of Hamilton and his stubborn driving style. He's always stuck in the racing line then cries whenever some bumps into him, get rid of Hamilton I say. Imagine mclarens bill? They have to build a new car after every race, he's costing them money!
I view Maldonado the same as Hamilton, both reckless, just that Maldonado gets the penalties while Hamilton gets away with things.

Backing off would have made contact with the tyres, as it did.. going onto the grass would have most likeyl put him into a spin. I really dont think there was much he could do.

Woah woah hold on, where did this come from? :wtf:

The only incident this year that Hamilton has been involved in that was probably down to his 'stubborn' driving style was in Valencia with Maldonado.. not a good mix at all. Other than that he's been consistent with his driving, with 2 race wins. He's only 'wrecked' the car twice, once having nothing to do with his driving and the other being debatable.

You're talking an absolute load of rubbish in that post, straight out of nowhere with your cluelessness. I'm guessing an Alonso fan?

Unless you've somehow managed to mix up Hamilton with Maldonado..

No I didnt know F1 was suppose to be a deathrace. And if it was, the organizers and manufactures would soon find themselves without any sponsors and fans, and there would be no sport...the chances of a death should be freakin small (less than 1 in a century or something like that ;) ).

Talking a gap or making a calculated move should not be discouraged, reckless driving and putting lives in danger should be severly punished, Grosjean got off lightly.
