F1 2012 thread

None of Michael's team mates won a WC ever. He never raced alongside Hakkinen, Alonso, Raikkonen, Hamilton, Vettel, Button.

In 1997 he came within a hair of Jacques Villeneuve in a vastly superior Williams-Renault. He was more than a match for Hakkinen in the class of the F1 field in 1998 and 1999 (the MP4/13s and 14s). He went toe-to-toe with Alonso in 2006, who had superior, more reliable equipment. Damon Hill should have beaten him in 1995 as the Williams FW17 was much, much faster than the Benetton B195. Hill took a thrashing from the press and those in the know for wasting such a good car.

Once he got the faster car he was untouchable. In an inferior car he was still able to give those in better equipment nightmares.

How many crazy moves has hamilton made? Yet he was worried about perez. So easy to over take hamilton, act crazy and he will let you go by. Perez got unlucky and admitted his mistake :D

Hamilton better get used to perez over taking him :D.

Perez is still the second biggest douche F1 has seen in a long time with Maldonado in tie for the spot. Alonso is still #1 douche of course

Why? Apart from perez making an error in the last race what has he done? Driven well but I cannot recall him doing anything bad this season, one mistake is ok, most drivesr will make at least one mistake during a season.

Have you listened to him in interviews? He's a winey douche and has the most awful personality, can't stand him and really! Could not care less if he is a good driver or not, he needs to get his ass kicked

Yup i have, have u heard most f1 drivers though? they all moan, at least perez said sorry guys my fault and took responsibility, he never blamed the car or mechanics. Sorry i cost my team good points.

Have u ever listened to hamilton? All he does is moan about the car when he doesn't do well. Strange i think perez for his age is actually awesome.

Cannot wait to see him in a car capable of pole.

Its not even the moaning, just can't stand that guy. Not a fan of Hamilton either but between the two I can stand him a lot more than Perez.

That twitter story calls for a cartoon I think :D It makes for cool reading lol!

I just want to see Alonso 1/2. Don't care much about the rest atm. Unless Vettel and Alonso take each other out. That could make it interesting.

Doubtful, should be another pole/win for vettel. If you follow practice the redbulls are mighty again which was obvious. Mclaren is nowhere and alonso is about 3 tenths off the redbulls.

Should be an easy lock out for redbull and race win for vettel. Having said that it's only practise but for now it looks likely to happen.

Naah, practice is too early to decide pace. That said, the Redbull DDRS system gives them enormous advantage in quali since you can use DRS right throughout the lap. Not so in the race. For Redbull, quali is 50% of the race. If they can qualify in front, they can often stay in front.

Mercedes' and Macca's front wing enhancement benefits for the duration of the race, so less gap to the DDRS boys. Those who get both working will have it made... or rather those who don't get DDRS are going to forever be snookered in quali.

It's all about the tracks dude, redbull are known to be strong on the slower tracks. Been like that for the whole season.

Japan, korea should be tracks redbull decimate the pack, considering they have argubly the most talented driver pole and a win should be a certainty. Only something mechanical can stop vettel. If webber can avoid getting hit he should be there looking for the 1,2.

Mclaren will be slow and unable to compete i reckon, just like last week. Ferrari should be strong purely based on alonso's skill.

Sauber will also be in the mix.

Korea was the only track that Redbull were beaten to pole last year. This year won't be the case. Their DDRS is going to give them Quali. Vettel will likely lose his 1st place by the thrid corner since he can't use DDRS down the first (long) straight. He'll pick it up over the race though. It's going to be redbull one way traffic this weekend.

Alonso's skill isn't going to help him if his car doesn't match.

Well alonso's skill comes through again, hamilton also did much better than i thought.

It was obvious the redbull would lock out the grid but it was surprising to see vettel fail, normally he would crush it but his team mate should get orders if needed to move over, should vettel struggle to beat him.

Watch out for alonso though, he is normally a bullet off the line and without the big point lead he cannot chill anymore. Massa is also driving really well, coulthard said he is driving like a man knowing he has a ferrari drive next season. Hamilton i dunno, his car doesn't look good enough for a win but 3rd place is very good.

Redbull can't use DDRS off the line and that first straight is looooong. I think there's going to be action come corner 1
