Lap times not really indicative of true performance due to conditions but you can see Alonso is really giving it his all. Hardest working in the field at the moment in my opinion.

For the red bull fans out there I saw a add on SS there is a complete radio controlled petrol scale model of the RB7 that you can build that is subscription based coming to SA. It looks awesome and reports from the UK site says its worth the money parts are excellent quality. SA Link will also start a thread about this.

Hamilton turns up the heat on Rosberg

The in-team rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg is turned up a few notches as the Briton claims he is hungrier than the German.

Having raced against one another since their early teens, Lewis and Nico have become good friends over the years, and in recent times each has appeared genuinely delighted with the other's success. However, the fact is they are racing drivers and at the end of the day they are rivals.

Now armed with a package capable of winning the ultimate prize, the Formula One World Championship, behind the smiles both men are focussed on just one thing, beating the other. Whilst first blood (in Australia) went to the German, his teammate has taken four successive wins, finally taking the championship lead in China.

Whilst Bahrain kept us on the edge of our seats, Mercedes knows that despite all the talk of refusing to introduce team orders sooner or later things are going to spill over, either as Hamilton enforces his superiority or Rosberg grows frustrated. The tetchy radio interaction in Spain was proof that Hamilton is watching the situation very closely, determined not to give an inch away.

Today however, things took a twist, as the Briton came right out and claimed to be more hungry for success than his teammate, a claim that will either bury Rosberg or fully fire him up.

"Let me tell you this," he told reporters, "I come from a not-great place in Stevenage and lived on a couch in my dad's apartment... Nico grew up in Monaco with jets and hotels and boats and all these kind of things. So the hunger is different.

Lewis not my guy, but he makes an interesting point. Sure that burnt Nico a bit.

Maybe that's exactly the result Merc wanted, to fire him up a bit.

That comment from Lewis pretty much outlines that he is only in it for the money. I don't think Lewis is about the money to be honest.

He was just voted as the most marketable sportsman in the world, and is worth over 60 mil pounds.

He's just playing mind games with Rosberg, and he's winning.

Hope he proves me wrong, but I don't think Rosberg has the killler instinct, Hamilton definitely has got it.

Sadly no, fits perfectly in the No 2 driver category, and likely to stay there, people don't often leave that category for up.

Alonso in a merc would leave Hamilton back on his dads couch in shreds.

Alonso was blown away by a LH as a rookie. And you somehow think he will beat him? I doubt that. It will be very close for sure, but Lewis is the better driver.

Earlier this week, Mercedes chairman Dieter Zetsche hailed Alonso as perhaps the top driver in F1.

He told Spanish media: "Alonso is probably the best driver on the Formula 1 grid. Fernando has always proven it - and in uncompetitive cars."

That admiration comes just a few weeks after Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff said Alonso was a 'monster' in races.

Speaking ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix about the latest comments from Mercedes, Alonso said he welcomed such talk, but said it was weird that others who should also be backing him did not do so.
