Or maybe he just doesn't have that hunger anymore, I don't know.

Been wondering about that too. I think he was hoping Merc could give him the car to go for number 8 and the longer it takes, the less hungry he gets perhaps. I personally think he will give it one more year and if nothing changes he will retire by the end of 2024. One can see how hungry George is by pushing the car to the limits. Maybe he should do an Alonso and give the sport a rest for a year or two and perhaps jump into the Audi in 2026.

Not really, the last 3 or so seasons have been pretty great.
My point has more to do with racing becoming "racing". Drivers should drive to win - not drive to avoid being "overly aggressive". If that's the case then its no different to team orders.

Lewis is spending a lot of time and energy on his public persona and his clothes/fashion. Every time he arrives at the paddock he treats it as a fashion show and models for the photographers and PR teams to get all the right angles and he ensures his fashion walk/stride is nice and slow. Maybe if he spent less time doing this he could beat the 1 x time race winner rookie driver George Russel.

Well of course PER wanted to win, what did you want from PER? To magically make stale hards better than fresh mediums?

Max did a great job! He really is a machine!

Could all the passing with DRS also given him some advantage?

True even if you listen to what the young drivers are saying, including Max, about how much time they spend on the simulator and he comes out saying he never uses the simulator, it probably goes to show that he just doesn't have the fire anymore or thinks he doesn't need it etc

As if F1 has never had drivers arriving in fashion. Don't be daft. You just never saw it because the coverage has been expanded because F1 is a commercial behemoth now. As for Lewis, he's doing just fine. 13th to 6th is decent considering they don't have turbo boost.

The more you push the harder the tires had to work whereas Checo had a clean track in front of him. Max's management of tires is top tier. The hard tires also was an unexpected bonus for Max but it can't really take away his overall drive. Yes he has a very fast car but he still needed to manage those tires for 40+ laps, get past the guys quickly and put up a decent gap before having to come into the pit and being in the race for the final few laps to contest Checo.

Name one other driver in the history of this sport that puts on a different outfit after every session. I will await your response.

He did, he pushed VER wide on turn 17, he put his car in the right place for Turn 1 but VER just laughed as his superior grip pushed him ahead before turn 2 even.
You forgot the DRS but as per the interview Checo said to the affect of having "a bit of a fight" but "obviously putting the team in front".

He has a smart head on his shoulders, being over aggressive could only end poorly.

Can't remember seeing driver arrivals being a coverage thing. Fashion though isn't exclusive to Lewis though.

Other drivers do it too, it's just less obvious as they are not as successful as HAM and also are not as extravagant. I don't see why people care so much on his fashion choices.

He does look goofy in them sometimes though.

Less obvious? From James Hunt to Michael Schumacher - many have had fashion moments. Heck, Mclaren drivers last year went full James Cordon. As for caring - You evidently do. Most of us don't really care - let them wear whatever they want, goofy or not.

There wasn't social media ... you know what, you're just not worth talking to.
