"Good morning. I get these images of Imola. The F1 paddock and pits are ok. The lower areas like F2 are with a lot of water. Today staff have been prohibited from going to the circuit until they are notified.

"1. Teams and other F1 personnel told not to go to the track today due to flooding in Imola area. They already left early yesterday so everyone is behind with garage and hospitality set-up etc, and they can't check garages today for possible issues with water.

2. The bigger picture is whether or not the race can happen at all. Thousands of people arriving in the area today and roads and bridges are closed, and emergency services tied up with real world issues. A major event is an extra headache. I'm told lots of discussions this AM.

3. The problem is of course is any decision on cancelling has to be taken quickly, ie this AM. As always in these cases there will also be a debate on who pays... and there's always a chance it becomes a postponement if they can find a new date."

Must be a chance that we won't be having any racing this weekend cause of the flooding.

Well, those are better pictures than the depressing one of Senna's wreck that twatter somehow decided I needed to see this morning.

Saturday looks to be the worst of the rain, with percentages in the high 70's. It drops to about 50% at lights out time.

From what I understand the biggest concern at the moment isn't the track / race itself but rather the area's capacity to hold a large scale event while dealing with the flooding.
