I think RB got it wrong with Albon. He’s extracting everything from that Williams. I hope Williams returns to glory - F1 will be better for it.
Albon was good in the RB, but he lacked racing aggression. He's too nice/soft. Went gravelling from high points positions in both Austria and Brazil and Lord Marko had then had enough.

Still premature imho. 2019 was his rookie season.

What is his situation at Williams? Is he on loan from Red Bull or contracted to Williams outright?

Perez might be losing the Red Bull seat at the end of this year, and I would think that Albon would be a better choice than Yuki, at least for 2024.

Seeing that we are discussing one trick ponies on this thread, maybe Devries is one. His performances are dismal this year and no wonder he got an ultimatum.
I wonder if its the car thats not to his driving style or if he is one of those sportsman that look pretty good till the get to the top tier and then can't perform there.

Was the qualifying worth the watch or business as usual?

Depends on how your how you feel about the track limits lottery....

Meh, looked at the results, it's the usual. I take it Perez didn't partake in Q2?

Anyway. Will skip shootout as well. Too much of a good thing this weekend :)

Not quite sure if Albon has been fully released from RB or on long term loan...

Regarding Perez, I would say he is the best Nr 2 driver that RB has had. Certainly better than Gasly and Albon. But something is not right there mentally. 4x Q2 dropouts in a row is unacceptable in the fastest car on the grid.

Horner has stated previously that RB have learnt that they can't have 2x Alpha Drivers in that team. Max is their prized Nr 1 and Perez still can be the perfect wingman but he needs to get his SH together and quickly.

With the long straights in Austria, Max could quite possibly go from 15th to win in a full race. Checo needs some of that on Sunday to fix all of this.

He exceeded track limits multiple times. Lap time deleted. So yeah he was out.

Perez is probably doing exactly what he has been told to do and Marko is acting as a smoke shield.
We already know that Perez is good in that car and he suddenly dropped off, but why?

Considering that the team started the season under a cloud because of the budget sandal, then hit the field with a car that could out perform anything, I suspect that Horner put on his PR Cap and came up with a plan.

If both drivers had remained dominant It would have continued to look like a car advantage and the smoke from the catering unit would not go away. If, on the other hand, Perez dropped off it would look like the other teams were catching up and it was only Verstappen's skill that were keeping them in the lead and not a technical advantage.

Marko's role is to create a smoke screen and threaten Perez to so that the PR myth gets reinforced by the press.
Maybe I could sell that story to Netflix or Brad pits Filming unit at Silverstone :) :sneaky::D

I think you need a break.

It’s not that complex. Perez has proved year after year that he is inconsistent at best.

Albon won't go back to RB.

It could be Ricciardo to RB, Checo to AT for the remainder of his contract.
