Sergio has been out-qualified by Haas this season. He is only fast because the car is fast. He entire skillset results in holding the car back by 30s over the race. Latifi could beat him in the same car. Mazepin would lap him.Those were the 4 options. Sergio in a RB I would've chosen him

That's balls and you know it. His race pace is far better than qualifying...
Nah, the car just has the time to stretch it's legs. The car has fantastic race pace. The races he does well in are the ones he's able to hold it back less. We know what the car can do and thus where he should finish. We also know where he finishes. This tells us the delta between capability and skill.

Considering the chaos and track evolution of late I don't weigh much of my opinion on qualifying these days.

On the one hand, yes. On the other, he's failed to make Q3 how many times? Largely due to track limits which is a driver issue.

Where should he finish? As rubbish as he supposedly is, he's still ahead of everyone else in the championship bar Max...

If we added sergio in an RB to those 4 options - I'd choose Checo all day everyday.
He should finish first or second. He doesn't. Simple.

These guys refuse to accept that Max is driving that car insanely well. The only way they can stomach the idea of him doing so well is by putting it all down to the car. But then they have a Checo problem which they solve by considering him to be utterly useless.
Given we know he should be finishing 1st or 2nd.

Not at all, I have said multiple times Max is driving brilliantly. Why are you involving Max in this? We are discussing Checo, not Max. Max is the World champ for a reason. He has a fantastic car and he is driving brilliantly, probably better than anybody else on the grid. But that is not what we are discussing, we are discussing how kak Perez is.

Nah, you're not looking at the context of the discussion. Checo in RB and Max in AT - Checo would win.

I think it's a problem they have with RB in general. I'm not a fan of that team's culture myself, but to put it all on the car to downplay Max, or to compare Checo to Latifi and Mazespin, is just ridiculous. Oke did last to first in a freaking Force India, what did Latifi and Mazespin ever accomplish...

Still second in the constructors. At the end of the season that's all that matters.Given we know he should be finishing 1st or 2nd.

Go check whether Bottas came first or second 100% of the time. Or 7x world champion for that matter...
