It's unfortunately the world we live in. The immediacy of anything and everything means that if you don't keep the eyeballs on your product they've already moved on.

On a different note, what is your opinion on the anthems at the end of the race? I feel that that's pointless. They should allow drivers to come out to their songs like WWE wrestlers to change the podium celebrations a bit.
Frankly, I'd prefer neither. I always mute the anthems with any sporting event. Don't watch WWE, but I find the walkout songs played at MMA quite irritating. Just mute it though, and done.

Not saying I want any drivers to lose their lives but it's the risk of the job. Hence the qualification in my post. Imagine professional boxing requiring fighters to wear helmets to protect themselves.

Yeah. He does and I thought so at the time when I saw the race but many people have confirmed he was overly cautious and often calling for a safety car whilst the rain master schumi was driving around like he was on slicks!

He was slow, and lapped. He should've just given way. He created a dangerous situation. Michael would've been completely justified in smacking him around for a bit.

you guys referring to this right?

The speed MS closed in with, he should have known there was a slow silver car there....Not quite sure what he expected

As with any sport there are always going to be risks, the key is to minimize them, driving into a wall of spray not knowing what is on the other side is not what any driver should have to be doing.

Like it's been done many times before with less fatalities than a dry race? There's risk to everything and the current solution doesn't work for anybody.

Of course I wouldn't like to see a big crash, but Coulthard should've foreseen that Micheal, unlike him, is not a wuss. He was a lap down and should've given way.

It pretty much works for me, I am quite willing to forgo a Sundays entertainment once in a while.

I call that every other Sunday when there's no race.

Would like to hear your take on the sprint format?

Like it? Hate it? Is the change from last years to this years good? etc surely you have an opinion on it
Don't see what that has to with driver safety, but for the record I'm with Max, much prefer an old school race weekend without the sprint race.
