I can imagine the top teams are absolutely coining it with the budget cap in place. They're still generating the same (if not more) income but have a hard cap on their expenses. I'm expecting driver salaries to keep going north.

Just a follow-up on this. I see Merc have declared at £75m dividend from pre-tax profits of £113m. With the continual growth in the sport, revenues are going to keep increasing while the cost cap limits expenses meaning only one thing: big profits for the owners.

100% Correct. Not sure if it was Crofty or DC during interviews but someone definitely said "next week" and I was like "Oh, cool, race week tomorrow". Later on I jumped on to F1.com to screenshot the session times like I always do and saw the date was 2 weeks into the future.

Long story short, you are correct.

There was another idiot in the same race that also thought lifting off the throttle in a wet race is a good idea and took someone else out similarly.

Perez 'needs team change’ to overcome F1 slump - Marko​


Former F1 driver Gerhard Berger recently suggested that Perez needs to switch to another team to find his form in the sport once again.

It is a similar situation that Pierre Gasly and Alex Albon find themselves in, having struggled at Red Bull before impressing after departing the Milton Keynes-based squad.

Marko has hinted that Perez, who has a Red Bull contract in place until the end of next year, should make a similar move.

“You must not forget: I brought Perez into the team back then,” Marko told OE24.

“But that's simply the fate with Verstappen that he's suffering now. That was already the case with Gasly.

“From that point of view, Berger's statement is the right one. Perez needs a change of climate and team.

“Now we'll see how the next two races [in USA and Mexico] go. But the team and he are aware that he is in a crisis.”

Perez is now a major 2024 liability for Red Bull if he cannot get back in to form fast.

With the other teams closing the gap to Red Bull, the constructors championship will probably be very tight next year and without a solid number 2, Red Bull will not win the constructors. With the constructors being the honeypot financially for the teams, this crisis needs urgent attention. Max may be dominant again next year, but if you have the Merc's or Papaya's or Ferrari's consistently finishing 2 and 3 in races, then there is no ways Max can carry Red Bull's constructors on his shoulders alone like he more or less has done this year.

100%. They have the weakest pairing of the top-4 teams.
 
Think RB will give Perez maybe 3/4 races next year in the hope that a new year/car will help things a bit. It will take most of the catering budget to pay off and bin him
 
Can't RBR just sign a third driver and write off the $10 million Perez salary? In the grand scheme of things...

Works like a charm for everything except some.of the DSTV channels. All the other international channels is perfect. Have been watching Cricket WC as well as the Rugby. No buffering or anything.

Don't need a VPN either.

dstv channels is the one cause so much easier to find sport . good resolution and good commentary
