Just managed to catch the race replay now. Superb stuff from Lando. What a drive! Well deserved DotD. Wonderful drive from Danni Ric too. Another lap and he'd have had an ailing Russell.

Tsunoda is a petulant hot head and I struggle to see why he's on the grid.

Anyway, Sao Paolo next week and Brazil more often than not delivers a cracking race.

It's a sprint as well and if we get anything close to last year, I'm happy. Example, KMag on pole for sprint, Russell battle with Max, Max not letting Checo thru (twice).

Because of Honda. He is a part of their junior programme which was integrated with the Red Bull junior programme when Honda became their engine supplier. Red Bull will be done with him by the end of 2025 when their alliance with Ford begins.

On the Perez front, I don't see him being in the seat come 2024, but I don't see RB surrendering second place either. He'll stay there till the end of this season.

Ja, you raise a good point here. I forgot about the 2nd place spot still in play for 2023. RB would be foolish to scuttle their chances of a 1-2, even though Checo is doing a pretty good job of destroying it himself...

"BREAKING NEWS: According to Japanese media, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing is supposed to acquire the shares of Sauber F1 to Audi Sport

Toyota GR has been driving extremely successfully in the FIA WEC and WRC - FIA World Rally Championship for years. Under the leadership of ex-Formula 1 pilot Kamui Kobayashi as the team leader, there will now be a racing team in the royal class again.

The takeover will take place together with McLaren who will receive their engines from Toyota from 2026. In addition to Kobayashi as the team leader, Ryo Hirakawa is also scheduled to be a driver. The 29-year-old Japanese, who is already WEC world champion, Le Mans winner, Super GT champion and two-time SUPER FORMULA vice champion, was admitted to the McLaren Driver Development Programme a few weeks ago. 14 days ago, Hirakawa tested a 2021 MCL35M in Barcelona.

Toyota was already starting from 2002 to 2009 with its own factory team in Formula 1. Despite the highest budget of all racetracks, a Grand Prix was not possible.

The best result in the 2005 season was P4 for the constructors as Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli got P2 twice and P3 three times, as well as a pole."

If that news is true then I'm quite surprised, considering their history in F1.

Vice champion is the stupidest thing I've read all day

I see there is a rumor out that Stroll sold his shares at Aston to some Saudi company. Perhaps no more Lance next year. Anybody with a brain will let that little golden spoon boy go without hesitation. Unless the sale came with a condition that he has a seat for 2024.
