Yea I don't see Max changing teams mid-season. He's got the skill to consistently get good results even when the car is ass, like it was this weekend. And there'll be tracks that suit it better and he'll fight for a win, so definitely wouldn't write him off yet.

Also, it's only been 4 races so far. There's a lot of season left. I'm just hoping Ferrari can find a bit more pace, at the moment it's a 1.5 horse race. McLaren win with maybe Ferrari, maybe Mercedes, maybe RB trying to fight for the podium. At least McLaren have Lando, so there's always a chance for someone else to win :sneaky:

The top drivers always have performance clauses in their contracts.
It has never been a problem anyway if a driver wants to leave a team. Nobody want to sit with a driver that does not want to be there.

Also, Geez we only 4 races in and although not good, Max did not look so bad in the other races. All cars does not work on all tracks. Lets see how the first half of season go first.

Curios statements when you haven't stopped harping on about Sainz and Hamilton relative to their teammates after 4 races...

I highly doubt the clause in his contract would even allow for that.

He will be in a Red Bull until the end of the season.

Unless they bring some serious upgrades, he's probably out. My guess is he joins Newey, start on a clean slate with the new rules. The dumbass #2 driver will also always know his place and not get in his way...

HUH? We had to listen for 4 months daily after last season, how this is the 8th championship coming and also how Sainz are going to bring Williams back to their former glory.
Now its been 4 races and these experienced drivers cannot even beat their teammates. I mean rookies seems to have learned their cars and performing exceptionally.
What happened to that hype? I mean myself and others was ridiculed when we said its all false hype with no reality.

Hamilton to Ferrari move was just a marketing stunt, he is old and slow, yes he might have a flash in the pan once or twice on a circuit he really likes.
Sainz is just not as good as people think, although I personally thought he would beat Albon as I think Albon is also overrated.
Also Aston Martin needs a good driver. The window licker is going nowhere and Alonso is old. That car could get top tens consistently. Newey can probably not even get good feedback on any upgrades he makes.

George came second in a car that was playing Galaga with itself.

I don't see a way anyone could legitimately fault George for anything this weekend.

The trend I noticed over the past season or two is people do not like George's personality, so they started disrespecting him as a driver.

The guy is no slouch behind the wheel, and he beat Albon and Norris to the F2 championship in what is deemed to be the strongest ever F2 field.

Yea I think you're right. Which I also don't really understand, he's quite a likeable fellow. He says some incendiary things sometimes, but all of the drivers do at times. People are very sensitive man.

There was talk of Lewis winning his 9th and it may still happen, we will see. It certainly hasn't been the start people were hoping for, but I wouldn't write the old dog off yet, there's still fight there.

Sainz is excellent, he's shown that on multiple occasions. Only someone biased would say otherwise.

That Aston is a piece of ****. I've seen shopping trolleys get pushed faster by the wind in abandoned carparks whilst I'm getting a handy in the loading bay.

I still can't see that happening or at least if that happens I can't see it lasting.
Say what you want but the Strolls and their money own that team. And yes they need some respect, without their money their would be no team. And these rich people operate and think differently.
So if Max(and his Father) goes there, they will take no shyte from Lance and even call him out. So soon their will be trouble in paradise between the dads.

Lawrence will throw money at him, and Max will probably have a bunch of stuff in his contract giving him dibs on everything.

Lance has already accepted his #2 position with an old Alonso, Max would be a major win for Lawrence. Ultimately as a businessman he wants a winning team. Newey+Max can give him that. If #2 benefits from it, it's a bonus...

Well technically then he need 3 more when Massa is declared the real championship winner

Anyway, noticed how Hamilton looks and sounds deflated already, same as the last two years at Merc? He is rich and old. He does not want to try that hard anymore and take risks. He is not as fast as he used to be. Even the last championships at Merc he was just cruising and got everything handed on a plate with a superior car.
Those days are over and he is getting depressed. He should retire at end of season.

Nothing to do with second driver.
Do you think Max or more likely his father is never going to say what an idiot Lance is when things get tough and Max get no help from his teammate? Then the shyte will hit the fan.

As you pointed out, it has only been four races...

Regards Sainz, both the team and Albon mentioned his strategy input during the Aussie GP as being instrumental to Albon's 5th place finish (their best in years). While he will ultimately be measured on his results once the season is done, he brings more to the team.

Something you also seem to overlook when you criticise Hamilton and Sainz is the quality of their teammates. Leclerec and Albon are not mugs. Leclerc is arguably the only driver on the grid close to Max's level in competitive machinery. Both Leclerc and Albon also have a lot more experience with their respective teams. Leclerc has been with Ferrari since 2016 and this is his 7th season with them as a driver. Albon is in his 4th season with Williams. Hamilton and Sainz have walked into new environments and are up against highly-rated teammates. In Leclerc, Hamilton is up against one of the best drivers on the grid and a potential future world champion.

Ferrari as a whole has failed to deliver on the pre-season hype, but Hamilton has won a Sprint and is only 7 points behind Leclerc in the standings.

Ocon was also taking heat for being shown up by Bearman. Well, go look at the standings.

Like you said, let us wait until at least the mid-point of the season before we even think about making final judgements.

He is getting older and may need to retire. He seems a bit more volatile emotionally these days, could be he just misses the glory days of embarrassing everyone on track. We will see if he gets to grips with the car fully and starts getting real results.

Massa needs to go sleep in the sun.
