Or he could have just maintained 2nd at the first turn, and taken Max once things settled. Like he did later anyway. This would have gotten him the win.

When you're in a much faster car, there's no need to take 1st at the first corner. Piastri understood this...
 
Mclaren in a different league this year.


And as for Lewis... Wow. He rants about teamwork while verbally abusing his engineer. What a ****.

I think the racing would be much better if they simplified the rules to "always give the space". Then you wouldn't have this arbitrary fully alongside/predominantly alongside or whatever this week's version of it is.

Your job as a driver is to make sure that there is space on the outside/inside and if someone is run off track or squeezed at the apex it will be a slam dunk penalty.
 
Its a pitty that the woke generation has entered F1.
Racing is about winning, its about staying ahead. What the hell is qualifying for?
If you want to pass then you must make a plan.
Now its constant complaining, he must leave space, he pushed me off the track.

Don't see how it's practical to leave space in anticipation of an overtake.
 
People going on about the Norris-Piastri win stat.

When they became teammates, David Coulthard had more wins than Mika Hakkinen with fewer race starts, and he was also the ''lead'' driver heading into the 1998 season.

Far, far, faaaar too early to focus on that stat. It is meaningless at this point,

Would be easier to overlook it if Norris stops pulling a sour face every time he's beaten by his team mate who made more sensible decisions...

That is how the bookies make their money.
The punters focus on the Stats, the bookies look at ability and actual performance.
 
Fantastic race yesterday, the battle between Piastri/Max & Lando/Max was epic.
Williams really surprised me with their pace.
The only good thing with Ferrari were the animated radio conversations. Lewis must be wondering if leaving Merc was a good idea.

It's not a new thing, he went to Ferrari knowing they had strategy and communication issues.

He also insisted on going past Charles because teamwork, but then whined when he had to give the place back because he wasn't pulling away from Charles and closing the gap...
