With that front row we'll hopefully have lots of action. And the RB is clearly one of the fastest cars on the track going on one lap pace. If they could get on top of it's tyre degradation Max would definitely win a race or two soon.

If RedBull are super fast on 1 lap but can't compete for the entire 8 billion laps, surely that means they dial their engine down for the long race to protect it? If it was tyre wear then wouldn't the tyres look effed compared to McLaren when they change them?

It's pretty obviously a tire issue, not a PU issue. Everyone around the grid has a theory about what McLaren are doing - from phase change materials to water in the tires to some magic in cooling the airport airflow.
