Real rock and a hard place for Race Control. On the one hand, yes, let them race. Nothing clears water like 20 F1 cars at full chat. On the other hand, one incident, and suddenly you may have another Hubert, Senna or Bianchi on your hands, followed by a million questions.

As Brundle said, Race Control is risk averse, so this decision is understandable.

Did this Red Flag happen early enough so that we still may need mandatory pit stops or are we going to have a no pit dry race?
The start has been red flagged, not the race. The race has not started. But being a wet race, 2 tyre compound rule is not in force

One of the commentators also said, having the guys go behind the safety car for a couple of laps it will move the water enough to race.

I mean for **** sakes a bunch of Roombas could sort it out at this point.

How it’s not a thing in Formula 1 to have something to clear the water is beyond me.

Because it is still chucking it down. It's like trying to dry your garage floor while your burst water pipe is still pumping water out.

That being said, it is looking a lot brighter so hopefully we should be underway shortly.

I though I was going to have to watch the catchup as I couldn't make it in time. Thanks for waiting for me.

Think if the rain stays away, it won't be long until they are on slicks. Even in the F2 race, there were noticeable dry lines forming

Ooh shêm mamma, Norris wants a couple of more laps to make sure he is all comfortable and stuff.

Williams strategy cost Saint there - should have pitted when Lewis pitted and he would’ve been there by Alonso
