Yes, I think Singapore would be the biggest hurdle for him. If he manages to win this weekend, I think his tail will be in the air for the up coming Americas tour

I did a Copilot look up and this would be by far the biggest points deficit to be overturned to win the championship since....

Max Verstappen in 2022, who overturned a 46 points deficit to Charles le Clerc to win the title. I then asked Copilot to account for the different points system used today compared to previous eras and even accounting for that, no winner has overturned a bigger deficit than Max.
 
I cant believe that people are so lazy to read that they ask an AI to do it for them.

2022 was not that long ago, remembering that LeClerc had a 48 point lead before Ferrari turned into clowns is memorable.
plus it was mentioned SO many times last season when Norris was trying to catch up to Max wiht his 53 point lead.

Who needs Memory's, We have an Agent for that. ;)


I still think the post deserved a thumb because the OP asked the agent to do the digging and math required to compare different points systems over the history of F1 to confirm that the 2022 win was as huge as the hype.
No matter how good your memory is could you honestly say you could do that calculation in your head is a few seconds?

it was discussed in a pre race show last year talking about the point difference and the points difference adjusted.

My problem is that we are trusting AI that we all know hallucinate results, often. and we are not questioning it.

what used to be a point of discussion has become an acceptance. someone says something like Driver X will be world champion, no one will catch him, 2 people agree, 3 people disagree, evidence is shown, history is brought up, arguments are made.
Now things are changed, someone asks AI and everyone takes that as fact.

the way things are going someone could say " I asked Copilot who the greatest F1 driver of all time is and it said it was Lewis Hamilton" and even his biggest haters wont argue because an AI said so.

Yes, I am in the field and well aware that they Hallucinate, In fact I don't even call it Regenerative AI I Prefer Regurgitive AI because it throws up any rubbish's it digests from Face book and twitter with little if any fact checking.

The problem is that every browser and every search engine now returns AI results or Summaries and Every company is using AI agents. Ever Tried to deal With Amazon,com support?

So we don't have much choice it is being forced on us.

Used properly it can be a good tool, as can a Hammer and Chisel, but use it badly and you may get hurt.
We have to live with it now. The time for fighting it is over, rather learn how to use it safely.

It's also true that seasons are much longer now, which changes the available points dynamic significantly.
 
the closest to a points gap like this is not really 2022. but more 2007 if you think about it. it was a different point system, but it was 2 competitive McClaren drivers, with no team orders (but a bias towards one driver in the team) and McLaren lost that title because of that. sure the points gap was not as big but the situation and percentage of points earned is closer.
