Sadly, the Ferrari's were nowhere. Can't fault Hamilton as Le Clerc was only slightly better. Looks like the fight is again between McLaren and Red Bull this year and maybe Merc.
Lets not fool each other. Le Clerc was 0.2-0.3s faster in all qualifying sessions. That is like 1s faster every 5 laps and huge in F1.
Le Clerc's time was also set on his first run with scrubbed tires in Q3, don't know what happened but he did not set a time at the end when everyone was going way faster.

So far we can see:
Hype and social media videos does not make you faster. Kimi and Lewis
The ones that concentrated on the racing and was out of sight of media frenzy. performed very well. Bortoletto, Hadjar.
Lawson will be replaced mid season by Yuki
Haas is an unpredictable car and Rookies should not sign with them as it can end your career like Mick's
Old age and F1 does not go together. Alonso is in a comfort zone with Stroll as a teammate. Put a Hadjar or Bortoletto in as his teammate and his F1 career will be over at the end of the season.
Mclaren seems to have a big gap over the rest. We will have to see when we get to slower tracks if that continue. Also rumors of the wing still giving mini DRS with flexing might prove true on this fast track.

I guess Ferrari throwing the dice and has setup for tomorrows wet race / and or split strategy between car 16 & 44.
Le Clerc using scrubs in Q3 and not going out again hinting to some strategy at play.

Amazing to see two Williams cars in the top 10.

Nothing much else changed though. Rookies are rookies, the second seat RBR is still cursed, Hamilton is a formidable midfielder, Russell is still a "T-bag".

So Ferrari's great hope is 8th 🤣 In fairness the Leclerc is one place ahead but does it matter?

This year will be year of McLaren and we'll se how great Max is by keeping a car that is not on par, in the race for the top spot.

For those on Apple TV with F1TV Premium, it seems like at default settings you don't get HDR.
You need to disable Multi view in the F1TV settings if you want the highest image quality in HDR.

Hannes has always been very anti Max. Finally sees the light:

"As much as it hurts saying, I don't think there is a current F1 driver in F1 that could do in that Red Bull what Max does. That's because Max is so good, and because of the pressure in that 2nd seat. The best you can hope for is a Perez circa '21/22 to get the Constructor's title.

Not only does that 2nd seat require enormous mental strength (Marko would break most in half a season), but measuring yourself week after week against Max will surely erode your own ambitions, and spirit.

So, I think, you need a well-paid "senior" in the 2nd seat who knows their position and future, and put a rookie in the 3rd car which you build for the post-Max era. Jumping from RB to Red Bull doesn't work.

All that said. Max is not only generational, but perhaps the best ever. So this is a truly unique situation.

We will soon find out how strong Liam is mentally."

Where the heck do you find the settings? I do t see them in the settings or F1TV app.

In the Apple TV 4K app, swipe to the left menu. Go down to your username and click. I think it's the 3rd or 4th option, disable Multiview checkbox.

Those lap times were incredibly close, I'm not sure how many of us noticed that.

McLaren, as expected, were top of the pile
Ferrari was quick but sadly not quick enough for decent positions
Max did pretty well considering his car was still giving him trouble
George got a good position seeing as the Mercs don't usually do well in the heat
Happy to see Williams doing so well! Albon in 5th with Sainz not far behind!
Racing Bulls were punching above their weight
Gasly did well, Doohan did all right
Bortoleto showed his class by out-qualifying Hulk, but crazy to see Sauber beating some other teams
Aston Martin was pretty average for Aston Martin
Bearman had a day from hell, sadly Ocon didn't fare much better
Antonelli was really unlucky losing control on that final corner, but at least he didn't crash. Other than his last lap he was just behind George, which is great!

Interesting grid for a good race. The prospect of rain makes it really, really interesting.
It may end up looking similar to Brazil 2024 :X3:
