Yes, they will be smaller.

not by much. couple of cm shorter and a few cm less wide.
unfortunately the safety regulations as they stand now makes the cars as wide as they are, and that is where the biggest problem with the current boats lies.
The 2026 cars will be smaller and lighter than the current generation, the wheelbase reduced from a maximum of 3600mm to 3400mm while the width of the car is down from 2000mm to 1900mm.
The weight has also been slashed by 30kg with downforce down by 30 per cent and drag by 55 per cent.
Still decent. It's a start. It might not sound like much but it is pretty significant.
Yeah 2026 regs will still be all hybrid and small turbo engine, 2030 and beyond looks a bit better because I believe they are looking to go to the bigger engines with synthetic fuels, I'm not sure if there will be any turbos. So yes, the cars would be smaller still thanks to no hybrid tech. Maybe screaming V10s will make a comeback?its a step in the right direction 100%
but due to crash structure the width of the car will never get down much lower.
there is also the other side of the coin, ground effect cars need more under floor surface area to work best.
so with less surface area, no MGUK to negate "turbo lag" and the other changes, those cars are going to be slower than the current generation.
2026 quali times are going to be similar to 2025 first lap times.
cars will have less power, less drag sure, but less downforce.
hopefulyl it makes for interesting racing, but as someone who watches the sport for the tech and how things evolve this feels like a step in the wrong direction. but the engineers are much smarter than I am so lets just hope I am completely wrong
MGU-H is removed from 2026. It's all up in the air if combustion engines will survive in the long term - many would love a clean V10 engine though with an alternative fuel though.Yeah 2026 regs will still be all hybrid and small turbo engine, 2030 and beyond looks a bit better because I believe they are looking to go to the bigger engines with synthetic fuels, I'm not sure if there will be any turbos. Bottas would be a far better contender...wtaf...
